Sporadic Snapshots: Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween everyone! I hope your Halloween was fun, safe, and full of delicious candy and delightful costumes! To all those affected by Hurricane Sandy, you are in my thoughts and I hope you, your friends, and your families are safe. Many people had their entire homes and businesses destroyed, while others experienced flooding, power outages, and damage to personal property. We luckily only lost power for a few hours. If you live in New York, there are plenty of opportunities for volunteering and helping out, or you can just donate clothes, food, or money to numerous Hurricane Sandy relief charities.
This post is going to be a collection of recent photos, mostly instagrammed, that I have yet to post on Blogger. :)

"If the pressure is too big, do something else." -Karl Lagerfeld
I apologize profusely for the lack of blog posts lately - I just finished my spring semester, so hopefully I will be able to post a lot more! I was also having trouble uploading photos to my MacBook because I couldn't find the USB cable for my camera, but I finally found it today! :) This post is going to be about a few makeup/beauty/hair care items I purchased recently.

"The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy." -Yves Saint Laurent
I never really cared much for makeup, but recently my fascination with it has swelled significantly. Last autumn, I branched out and began buying nail polishes. Since then, I've accumulated a plethora of colors and started experimenting with different designs on my nails. It's fun to think of yourself as a canvas that you can color and adorn. Currently, I am enamored with fun, bright lipsticks. I never really wore lipstick (apart from the occasional red lip) and I found lip gloss to be naught but annoyingly sticky. However, thanks to my friend Anna (Follow her on Tumblr!), who is on a recent lipstick frenzy of her own, I developed a slight obsession with lipsticks. I purchased two new shades. I also got a new nail polish (naturally) and a perfume I've been coveting for a while (at a good price!).

"I'm constantly looking for perfection." -Yves Saint Laurent
YSL, YSL, oh YSL, why have you come out with such mesmerizing Arty Oval rings? I just made a post about my new blue and gunmetal Arty ring, and here I am making a post about my new mint colored one. I first spotted this ring on the Saks website, but it was sold out. I searched for it everywhere, checking the YSL website, Saks, MyTheresa, and other sites every day. Finally, the day before the price increase, I found it at Ssense. It was $250 and I got it without sales tax (since it was from Canada) and with free shipping. I was so excited! It shipped very quickly and I am super pleased with it.

"Luxury is the income tax of vanity. But it is so pleasant." -Karl Lagerfeld
I've loved YSL Arty rings for a while now. I got my first one back in October. It is one of my absolute favorite pieces and I wear it all the time. Unfortunately, it doesn't match too well with silver jewelry. When I first saw this blue and silver ring, I fell in love. It is truly the most stunning Arty ring I have ever seen. The stone is hypnotic; I love how it stands out! I had a hard time getting my hands on this baby, as it was only available in Europe. It was worth it! I got my ring from a boutique called Smets through Farfetch.com. I'm so happy with my ring! :D

"I always believed that style was more important than fashion. They are rare, those who imposed their style while fashion makers are so numerous." -Yves Saint Laurent
I am so excited about this post! I had a truly wonderful day today and on top of that, I found some amazing stuff. I apologize for the not exactly superb photographs, but I recently started school so I'm not able to be home at the best times for good lighting. All of the items in this post were thrifted from different places (on different days haha), and I love everything I got.

"The best things in life are free; the second best are expensive." -Coco Chanel
I couldn't agree more with the quote I titled this post after. The most important and wonderful things in life are priceless - family, loved ones, friends, your health....but the next best thing after that is most certainly saving up and buying something you've been coveting for a while, like a trip to Spain or a ring you've been reblogging on Tumblr for what feels like years... So, without further ado, let's open these bags! ;)
