I never really cared much for makeup, but recently my fascination with it has swelled significantly. Last autumn, I branched out and began buying nail polishes. Since then, I've accumulated a plethora of colors and started experimenting with different designs on my nails. It's fun to think of yourself as a canvas that you can color and adorn. Currently, I am enamored with fun, bright lipsticks. I never really wore lipstick (apart from the occasional red lip) and I found lip gloss to be naught but annoyingly sticky. However, thanks to my friend Anna (Follow her on Tumblr!), who is on a recent lipstick frenzy of her own, I developed a slight obsession with lipsticks. I purchased two new shades. I also got a new nail polish (naturally) and a perfume I've been coveting for a while (at a good price!).
I purchased the YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in Fuchsia Innocent (#27). The color is a stunningly vivid bright fuchsia that stands out just enough. This lipstick is probably my favorite formula ever. It is moisturizing without being greasy. I find that some YSL lipstick lines are too greasy and look bizarre on me. Most importantly, this lipstick is incredibly long-lasting. It doesn't come off for hours. I can wear this all day without really needing to re-apply it. It even withstands eating and drinking, though I do prefer to re-apply a bit of it after. I am tremendously impressed with it. You can purchase this lipstick here. :)
These are my YSL lipsticks. The one at the very right can look quite greasy and I find that I need to apply it intermittently on my lips, rub them together, and then apply gloss on top in order to achieve an effect I like.
The next lipstick I purchased is from NARS. I have never tried any NARS products surprisingly, but I am keen on experimenting with more! This lipstick is a lighter pink than the YSL one I bought. It is also a great deal more sheer, but it looks very pretty. I was drawn to this pink immediately, and I chuckled when I saw the color's name - Roman Holiday. Leave it to me to pick out a color inspired by Audrey Hepburn! Another NARS color I liked and plan to buy was Funny Face. You can purchase it here. I am pleased with the staying power of this one, as well.
I purchased the Saint Tropez nail polish by Dior, as well. I love blue/green shades, and this one reminded me quite a bit of the infamous Tiffany blue. You can buy Saint Tropez here. :)
I have never tried Dior nail polishes out properly before, and I was pleased with the formula. The brush makes the polish simple to apply, and the color looks great! Here it is with no top-coat and after a few days of wear:
Finally, I got lucky and found this Viva La Juicy 3.4 fluid ounce bottle for $50 at Marshall's! I went inside on a whim (and surprisingly, the Marshall's and TJ Maxx in Manhattan actually have a lot of designer stuff) and I was super excited to find this.
Here it is with my original Juicy Couture fragrance. I love both of them! They're very sweet scents. If you'd like to sample Viva La Juicy first with a small bottle, you can purchase it from Kohls:
Or you can buy a full size bottle here!

I am very happy with all of my purchases. I put a lot of thought into makeup purchases; I will go to Sephora or a particular makeup counter and try an item several times before I am certain I want to buy it. Sephora has a great return policy, but I do not want to take advantage of it and waste products. I have a few more items on my makeup wish list, but for now, these goodies shall suffice! I'm excited to continue wearing the lipsticks - I wear a different one every day. Any fun lipstick recommendations will be highly appreciated! As always, thank you for reading. I hope you all have a wonderful day. <3
Here are a few more shots of my new goodies! :)

Very inspiring posts and blog, love your style! Would you like to follow each other?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite lipsticks ever are the Mac ones. They have such a huge range of colors and formulas, whenever I go I always end up picking a new one because of how many products they have. I would recommend Cosmo, Faux and Angel if you're just starting with Mac lipsticks and want to try them, but of course it's all up to you. They also have great eye shadows !
ReplyDeleteLovely collection! Stunning Christian Dior nail colour here! Very on trend

I love the Dior polish--such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but for someone who seemingly has money you're taste isn't the most sophisticated. I'm referring to what I've seen of the blog in general thus far, not just this post. Your quotes are shallow, as is the general feel of the blog. I love fashion, I do believe that it's a form of expression like any other, but none of this is expressive, it's just screaming "Look at me! I have money, or so I want you to believe!". Not inspiring whatsoever, blogs aren't meant to be bragging outlets for recent shopping excursions.
