"The most beautiful makeup of a woman is passion. But cosmetics are easier to buy." -Yves Saint Laurent

I never really cared much for makeup, but recently my fascination with it has swelled significantly. Last autumn, I branched out and began buying nail polishes. Since then, I've accumulated a plethora of colors and started experimenting with different designs on my nails. It's fun to think of yourself as a canvas that you can color and adorn. Currently, I am enamored with fun, bright lipsticks. I never really wore lipstick (apart from the occasional red lip) and I found lip gloss to be naught but annoyingly sticky. However, thanks to my friend Anna (Follow her on Tumblr!), who is on a recent lipstick frenzy of her own, I developed a slight obsession with lipsticks. I purchased two new shades. I also got a new nail polish (naturally) and a perfume I've been coveting for a while (at a good price!).

“In a Balenciaga you were the only woman in the room - no other woman existed.” -Diana Vreeland

I've always thought the Balenciaga City was a classic, must-have bag. Part of the fun of Balenciaga is that they make bags in really fun colors. I've been waiting for them to come out with the perfect red and gold combination, and the Hamilton leather Bordeaux colored City with the new giant hardware was perfect. The hamilton leather seems more durable than the usual, sort of slouchy Balenciaga leather. I love the contrast that the gold hardware brings, and I also love that it's not so big and heavy as the regular hardware. All in all, this bag was honestly the perfect Bal for me! This post is pretty photo-heavy, so I apologize in advance! :P

"I'm constantly looking for perfection." -Yves Saint Laurent

YSL, YSL, oh YSL, why have you come out with such mesmerizing Arty Oval rings? I just made a post about my new blue and gunmetal Arty ring, and here I am making a post about my new mint colored one. I first spotted this ring on the Saks website, but it was sold out. I searched for it everywhere, checking the YSL website, Saks, MyTheresa, and other sites every day. Finally, the day before the price increase, I found it at Ssense. It was $250 and I got it without sales tax (since it was from Canada) and with free shipping. I was so excited! It shipped very quickly and I am super pleased with it.

"Luxury is the income tax of vanity. But it is so pleasant." -Karl Lagerfeld

I've loved YSL Arty rings for a while now. I got my first one back in October. It is one of my absolute favorite pieces and I wear it all the time. Unfortunately, it doesn't match too well with silver jewelry. When I first saw this blue and silver ring, I fell in love. It is truly the most stunning Arty ring I have ever seen. The stone is hypnotic; I love how it stands out! I had a hard time getting my hands on this baby, as it was only available in Europe. It was worth it! I got my ring from a boutique called Smets through Farfetch.com. I'm so happy with my ring! :D

"I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it." — Alexander McQueen

Lee Alexander McQueen was so incredibly talented. His designs were always edgy, intricate, and beautiful. I feel that recently my style has dipped into a more edgy territory, and I've been trying to acquire things that are more interesting. I recently got the Alexander McQueen skull scarf and I love it! Surprisingly, I didn't have any lightweight black scarves. The scarf I got is black with gray skulls, so the skulls are more-or-less subtle, but noticeable enough. I'm so pleased with this scarf - it goes with almost anything!
